Across Newfoundland Resupply Plan

“Hard work should be rewarded with good food.”
-Ken Follett

This trail has an easy resupply plan. The few distances above 100km are on an easy trail with barely any elevation gain. The East Coast Trail part of the trail has almost a village every couple of days. Which makes this trail one of the easiest resupply I have experienced.  Canada is also a well-developed country which makes what you find in grocery stores not too far from what most of us know.

Here is some information for your resupply plan that I hope will make your prepping a lot easier.

Full List

Fermeuse (~km 28)
Limited services with a small convenience store. The store is small with limited choices. A great place to stop for an extra treat but you're better resupply in Ferryland.
Ferryland (~km 58)

Has a decent size grocery for the size of the town. Be aware it closes on holiday (the first time I see a grocery closing on holiday).
Cape Broyle (~km 85)
Small gas station with a decent size convenience store.
Bay Bulls (~km 142)

Has a full-size grocery store and accommodation.
St John's (~km 204)

Has everything you need.
Torby (~km 231)

A small village that has a good size grocery. You can take an alternative route to make this store on your way.
Pouch Cove (~km 254)

Small convenience store, which is great for a treat but too minimal for a decent resupply.
Long Pond (~km 314)

The Sobeys is really close to the trail and is a full-size supermarket.
Whitbourne (~km 375)
Has a convenience store close to the trail and a supermarket 3km further (one way).
Clarenville (~km 497)

Two big groceries stores, hotels, basically everything you need
Terra Nova (~km 552)

Has a small convenience store/fast food. Too small to resupply. But a great place to stop for a treat.
Gander (~km 634)
There is a Walmart right on the trail, big enough of a town to find any accommodation.
Grand Fall (~km 731)

Two big groceries close to the trail, accommodations, campground just outside of town (4km)
Howley (~km 862)

A small convenience store that sells literally everything. Food selection was very limited. Great for a treat, but not so for a resupply.
Deer Lake (~km 889)

It has everything you need including the closes airport to the end (to fly out)
Rocky Harbour (~km 952)
This charming little town has a small convenience store a hostel, and some campgrounds. It is 15km off the trail.
End (~km 1010)
No service, Rocky Harbour is the closes town.
