Hi, I'm JessyMmh, thinking about dark chocolate.

This page is usually where some people love to talk about themselves, but I am not one of those (unfortunately for this page). I understand that you might be curious to know a little more about the guy behind the blog, so let me try to summarize my journey and to tell you a bit more about myself.
By now, I'm sure you figured out English is not my first language. True, I'm a French Canadian and no, we don't all wear a red squared shirt. Now, I live in the Yukon and have been for over a decade now. "If my form English speaking and mistaks drive nuts you." (Doing this on purpose.) Bad news, torture has just started... (Mouhahahaha!) |
When I was a kid, I idolized adventurers like Indiana Jones. (Who doesn't like India Jones?) The way explorers travel the world, free from everything, carrying the minimum (a whip, is a must), and going into the wildest places, places that people have never seen, have never been. This adventurous seeds inside me, kept growing until I was 16. Then, the sprout finally saw the light; I left home for travelling, heading into the world, unprepared at best...
Now it has been well over a decade, not much as changed. I am still 16 (in my heart anyway), still walking and travelling the earth. This time, I am a little more prepared, more experienced, about 40 countries later! (My ego really wanted to specify that.) |
Quick Facts
|
Treks, Mountains, and NatureSince I was young, I was always attracted by mountains (sadly I didn't have big ones where I grew up). So when I left home, it was the first place I went.
Even before my first ascent of a real peak, I could tell the mountains had a spell on me. I knew I wouldn't be able to live without them. They seduced me in such a way that I couldn't resist marrying them. This is (partly) why I now call the Yukon my home and its wilderness my playground. Nature has so much to offer when we just take the time to witness her beauty. For me, she is such a master that I have dedicated the page wisdom of nature to some of the lessons she taught me. |
Travels and CulturesI finally got to visit Petra in Jordan. (A long time due, for an old Indiana Jones fan.)
I believed (still do), that travelling is one of the best ways to learn about ourselves. It pushes us to our limits and sometimes beyond. When we are alone, thousands of kilometres from home, in a completely different culture, that speaks a language we don't understand. It can be frightening... the unknown... the uncertainty... the insecurity... But once we dare to embrace the moment. The right here, right now. We realize we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Since we have everything we need with and within us. |
Thoughts and WisdomThis is by far my favourite topic. Even as a teenager I was drawn towards retreats, meditation, self-development weekends. This dedication of becoming every day more conscious, thoughtful, and my better self, has never left me since. I found that Love is the answer to it all. If we love ourselves, each other's (yes, love you too), our lives, and even our challenges. An ever-lasting happiness will arise.
Back in 2016, I launched a website to offer support to people on their journey and to share my thoughts and writings. After having to turn down many people wanting me to be their guru (I'm simply not the guru type). I was looking in another direction... This is how this website was born. |
