We are in a world that advocates speed in our lives, many inventions exist to save time; washing machines, dishwashers, cars, instant meals, etc. But what are we doing with this time? We run even more! We run to work and make more money, we run to do activities and stay fit, we run to see our social circle, we run to entertain ourselves, we run to be happy, we run even to simply live. Are you not out of breath? This tendency to run puts obstacles in our spiritual journey. Because speed is an easy way to avoid many inner questions, to escape certain experiences and to stay in a superficial state. Slowing down is essential, but it is equally important to ask ourselves; why are we running? What are we chasing and is it really important? It is by deepening our understanding of this tendency that we will have the tools to overcome it for good.
If we dare to slow down even for a small daily moment, we will see that we do not lose time, but on the contrary, we gain some. Because by slowing down we open ourselves to a space where time and limits don’t exist. Where we can finally breathe. Let’s take the time to walk in nature, to have a deep conversation, to truly enjoy a meal, to sit in silence, to smell the perfume of a flower, to express our love, to admire something, to laugh, to contemplate a moment. Let yourself be taken and guided not by time, but by the moment. Slowing down is an important tool for our journey. Because to grow and find the inner well-being one must not have time but take the time!
