If you are doing the hike in the spring be ready for some buggy section. Quebec is blessed with mosquitoes and black flies. I recommend wearing long sleeves and pants, bring a bug net and bug protection for the night.

Long Section Without Food


There is a long section of 250km between resupply. To complete it, you will have to carry a good amount of food and walk a decent distance every day to make it happen. On the hard side, that section is the wildest and the hardest (trail wise and elevation wise). There are a couple of other options possible for this section
  1. I have heard the visitor centre in Parc de la Gaspesie accept food boxes from thru-hikers. You would have to contact them. That would divide the section approximately as 190km and 60km.
  2. You could pay for a drop-off box service (here is the link for more information).
