Tips to Improve your Pictures

“Dare to live the life you’ve always wanted.” -Unknown

September 4, 2019 | by Jessy Desjardins
Pictures will never recreate the beauty of the moment, but they can help trigger the beautiful memories. I am far from a professional photograph. When it comes to pictures, I'm just the average Joe. This blog post is not about taking professional pictures, other websites and people would be more qualified to teach you that. It is more of friend to friend, traveller to traveller tips. Those are ways that made me improve greatly my pictures.

3. Different Modes

Already? Yes! This is the step you need to take to commit to your plan. It is easy to talk about what you want to do, where you want to go, but it takes courage to take the leap. (Don't be a wimp!) No seriously, it will motivate you even more, and give you the energy for the rest. For trips over a month, I usually take a one-way flight (careful, some countries require some proof of you leaving the country). This way I am more flexible. Who knows you might not fully enjoy what you expect you will (it happened to me a few times, then I just move on). For smaller trips, it is sometimes (often) cheaper to book your return flight at the same time.

4. Save up and Prep

Now that you have booked your flight. Congrats! You are one step closer from heading out into the world. That flight also gives you, your timeline before you leave. This is the time for saving money (you should have planned how much you would need already). The amount of prepping depends on the duration of your stay abroad. If you plan to travel for many months, you might have to move out of your apartment or find someone to take over your lease. This is just an example, but for longer trips, there is a lot more to prep than for a 2 weeks travel.

5. Pack Up

In the few weeks before your leaving date, start thinking about what you need to bring and if you need to buy something else for the trip. If you need help with that, take a look at my packing list. A week before your trip spread everything you plan to bring and double-check you got everything. A day before your trip, do your final packing. For long flights bring your own food (saving money this way, more on travel tips).

6. Head out

Finally, your last 5 steps payout, by now, you should be in the airport waiting for your flight that will bring you to your next adventure. You are fully prepared. You might be scared or stress, don't worry that simply means you are out of your comfort zone, which ensures your adventure won't be boring! Embrace the upcoming weeks, months, and enjoy every single moment. Happy travels!
