Ask me what I have overcome today

Don’t ask me what name do I go by
Ask me to name the values I live by

Don’t ask me where I am from
Ask me if I know where I belong

Don’t ask me how old I am
Ask me what made me grow 

Don’t ask me what I studied
Ask me what I have learned

Don’t ask me what I do for a living
Ask me what my life has been devoted to

Don’t ask me what are my plans
Ask me what are my dreams

Don’t ask me where I have been
Ask me why I am here

Don’t ask me what I want to eat
Ask me what nourishes me

Don’t ask me what I want
Ask me what I am grateful to have

Don’t ask me who I wish to be
Ask me who I am as a person

Don’t ask me why I fell
Ask me why I got back up

Don’t ask me what annoys me
Ask me what makes me smile
